VR shop

Six months ago, I created a VR shop to showcase my concept for product presentation in Virtual Reality using Unity. In this immersive shop, users can walk around, select a product, and interact with it at a presentation table to learn about its various components. When a user grabs a part of the product, a detailed description appears on the screen, enhancing the learning experience. Once they find the right product, they can bring it to the shopkeeper to complete their selection.

The product presentation method inspired by an article from Basti Schütz on linkedin. For the product presentation animations, I utilized the DOTween library, which made the experience incredibly flexible and easy to implement. I’m considering creating a video tutorial on how to achieve similar results.

One key lesson I learned from this project pertains to the shopping basket. I found it challenging to create the perfect hand grab position, so I might consider hiding the hand in future iterations. Additionally, I noticed that products can easily slip out of the basket, so I plan to add sockets to keep the items securely in place.

There are many ideas I still want to implement in this shop, but my primary focus is to ensure that the overall experience remains enjoyable and engaging for users.
